1. Eligibility
- You must be 19 years of age or older.
- You must present valid government-issued photo ID at equipment handover.
- You must have a credit card in your own name with sufficient available credit to authorize the $300 refundable security deposit.
2. Equipment ownership
All equipment — Starlink terminals, routers, cables, mounts, power packs, solar panels, and cases — remains the property of Canadian Starlink Rentals at all times. You acquire only a temporary right to use the equipment for the rental period.
3. Your responsibilities
- Use the equipment only for its intended satellite-internet purpose.
- Protect the equipment from theft, fire, water damage beyond rated weather sealing, and tampering.
- Do not modify, disassemble, or repaint any component.
- Return all components in the same condition as received, in the original case.
4. Security deposit, damage, loss, and theft
A $300 refundable security deposit is authorized on your credit card at handover and released within 48 hours of return of undamaged equipment. Normal field wear (light scuffs, sand, dust) is expected and never charged.
Damage beyond normal wear is assessed against the deposit with an itemized breakdown. If repair or replacement exceeds $300, the balance will be charged to the card on file. Loss or theft is charged at full replacement value:
- Starlink Mini Kit — approximately CAD $599
- Starlink Standard Kit — approximately CAD $799
- Boondocker Power Pack — approximately CAD $1,200
You must report loss or theft to the RCMP or RNC within 24 hours and provide us with the police file number.
5. Late returns
A 24-hour grace window applies. Beyond that, late returns are billed at 1.5× the daily rate per kit per day until the equipment is returned. Equipment unreturned for more than 7 days after the rental end date is presumed stolen and will be reported as such.
6. Service limitations
Starlink internet service is provided by SpaceX and is not guaranteed by us. Outages, weather-related signal dips, satellite hand-off interruptions, and capacity throttling are outside our control. We warrant the hardware works as designed; we do not warrant any specific throughput, latency, or uptime figure.
The customer is responsible for confirming sky visibility at their intended site (see the obstruction guide on the homepage).
7. Limitation of liability
Our maximum aggregate liability to you under any theory — contract, negligence, or otherwise — is limited to the total rental fees you paid for the booking in question. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or business-loss damages arising from equipment failure or service interruption.
8. Cancellation, refunds, and acceptable use
Refund tiers, weather-credit rules, and our right to cancel are described in our Cancellation Policy. Prohibited uses and our cooperation with law enforcement are described in our Acceptable Use Policy. Both documents form part of this agreement.
9. Governing law
This agreement is governed by the laws of the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any dispute will be resolved exclusively in the courts located in St. John’s, NL.
10. Entire agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Acceptable Use Policy, and Cancellation Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Canadian Starlink Rentals and supersede any prior verbal or written communications.
