Cancellation & Refunds

Aligned with the standard outdoor-rental industry (RVshare, Outdoorsy, RVezy norms) and adapted for Newfoundland weather realities.

1. Standard cancellation tiers

Cancellation windows are calculated from the rental start date and time you booked. The applicable tier is the one in effect at the moment we receive your cancellation request by email.

2. NL weather & force-majeure clause

If a named storm, Environment Canada travel advisory, ferry shutdown, provincial state of emergency, or government-ordered road closure blocks delivery or your trip, you receive 100% credit toward a future booking with no expiry. This applies regardless of how close to the start date the event occurs.

We choose credit over cash refund here because the cost of the dispatch slot is already locked in. The credit keeps you whole and keeps us solvent.

3. Early returns

Once the rental period has begun, no refund is issued for unused days if you choose to return the equipment early. This is the standard across the rental industry.

4. Equipment failure on our end

If the equipment fails through no fault of yours and we cannot deliver a working replacement within 24 hours, you receive a full prorated refund for the affected days plus the entire return-shipping cost.

5. Our right to cancel

We may cancel a booking for inventory loss, equipment damage, weather preventing safe delivery, or a good-faith concern about misuse (see our Acceptable Use Policy). If we cancel for any reason other than a customer breach, you receive a 100% refund plus a $50 inconvenience credit applied to a future booking.

6. How to cancel

Send an email to starlinkrentalnl@gmail.com with your booking name and start date. The cancellation tier is locked at the timestamp of your email, not the time of our reply.

7. Refund processing

Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method via Stripe and typically appear on your statement within 5 to 10 business days. The $300 security-deposit authorization is released separately within 48 hours of equipment return.
