1. Who we are

2. Information we collect

When you submit a booking request or complete a payment, we collect:

Full name, email, and phone number
Rental start and end dates, kit selection, and use-case notes
Shipping address (only if you select courier delivery)
Payment metadata returned by Stripe (last 4 digits, brand, billing postal code). We never see or store your full card number.
Basic site analytics (page views, device type, referrer)

3. Why we collect it

To verify availability and fulfill your rental
To send booking confirmations, receipts, and dispatch updates
To process payment and hold the refundable security deposit
To prevent fraud and recover lost or stolen equipment
To comply with Canadian tax and law-enforcement obligations

4. Who we share it with (subprocessors)

We share the minimum data required with these vetted providers:

Stripe Payments Canada, Ltd. — card processing and the $300 deposit hold
Lovable Cloud — hosting, database, and transactional email delivery
Canada Post / Purolator — only when you select courier shipping

We do not sell your information. We do not share it for advertising purposes.

5. How long we keep it

Booking and payment records: 7 years (required by the Canada Revenue Agency)
Newsletter opt-ins: until you unsubscribe
Site analytics: 26 months, aggregated

6. Your rights

Under PIPEDA you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time. Email starlinkrentalnl@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days. Deletion requests for active or unpaid bookings, or for records still required by tax law, will be honoured at the end of the legal retention period.

7. Cookies

We use essential session cookies to keep you signed in and remember your booking selections, and first-party analytics cookies to understand which pages perform well. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

8. Security

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest. Payment card data is handled exclusively by Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 provider. Database access is restricted by row-level security policies; only the business owner has administrative access.

9. Changes to this policy

Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the new terms.
