I already have Starlink at home in the States. Can I just bring it?

Sometimes — but check first, because a US residential plan does not automatically work in Canada. In the Starlink app, look at your plan: service outside your home country generally requires a roam/travel option, which is an extra monthly charge, and some hardware is tied to the region it was sold in. If the app doesn't clearly show Canada covered for your dates, renting here is cheaper than adding a month of roaming plus hauling a dish through the airport.

Is it easier to rent than to fly with my own dish?

For most visitors, yes. A rented kit arrives pre-activated on an unlimited high-speed plan, needs no account or app login, and weighs nothing in your luggage. You also don't risk a damaged dish in checked baggage on a trip where the internet is the whole point.

Do I need to deal with customs or an import fee?

Accepted Answer

No. The equipment is ours and stays in Canada — you're renting it here and handing it back here. Nothing crosses a border.

How far ahead should I book for July and August?

Peak weeks — salmon season, lodge stays, and film shoots — take most of the fleet. Winter and spring are when the calendar is still open, so booking now is how you get the exact week you want.

What if my trip gets cancelled?

Accepted Answer

Your $100 pre-book deposit is refundable in full up to 30 days before your start date. Inside 30 days, our standard cancellation tiers apply, and named storms or ferry shutdowns always convert to a full credit with no expiry.

Can you deliver to a lodge or outfitter outside St. John's?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Flat-rate courier covers Newfoundland & Labrador — Central, Western, Avalon, Burin, Bonavista, Northern Peninsula, and Labrador routes. Tell us the address and we'll confirm transit time before you pay anything.

Will it work where I'm going?

Anywhere with a clear view of the northern sky. Heavy tree canopy is the only real limiter — run the free obstruction check in the Starlink app at your site, or use our obstruction calculator, and we'll advise on a mount or a better spot.

What does it cost for a full week?

Accepted Answer

$115 for a week, $299 for a month, $29 for a single day. That includes the hardware, unlimited high-speed data, and dispatch support. A refundable $300 hold is taken at handover and released when the kit comes back.
